Resource Development Manager

November 2020 - Present

As NPN’s Resource Development Manager, I collaborate with programmatic staff to advocate for greater resources for artists and organizations of color, with a particular focus on New Orleans and the Deep South through our fundraising efforts. I write and coordinate LOIs, proposals, support materials, and reports for funders and maintain the organization’s resource development calendar—as well as coordinate ongoing donor stewardship and engagement. In this role, I participate in and lead resource development strategy organization-wide and within individual departments with a particular focus on creating relationships with social justice funders and organizations and arts publications.

Fundraising & Revenue Coordinator

Editor

January 2024 - Present

September 2022 - Present

As an editor for the Chicago-based publication Sixty Inches from Center, I participate in bi-weekly editorial meetings and edit 2-3 articles per month. I helped launch Sixty Literary, a publishing initiative to cultivate and platform poetry and creative nonfiction from Midwestern writers, and contribute to ongoing editorial strategy discussions and editorial partnerships, including serving as a mentor for Sixty’s Midwest Arts Writers Fellowship.

Since 2024, I have also supported the organization’s fundraising and revenue initiatives, developing and launching Find & Seek, a community-building and revenue initiative designed to foster connection in the Midwest. I write and proofread grant proposals and reports, with a particular focus on public funding, and lead outreach for editorial partnership opportunities.

Grant Writing & Fundraising Consultant

In partnership with the Joan Mitchell Center in New Orleans, I provide one-on-one professional development for artists to: workshop artist statements and grant materials; develop a fundraising plan; research grant opportunities, residencies, and fellowships; understand the current climate of arts philanthropy; develop strategies to solicit art writers for coverage; and discuss approaches to crowdfunding.

During my tenure at the Art Institute of Chicago, I first served as a Data Management Specialist, ensuring efficient data entry and integrity of donor information into the museum’s Raiser’s Edge database. I am Blackbaud certified in Raiser’s Edge. In 2019 I joined the museum’s Donor Stewardship department as the Development Writer, crafting donor communications on behalf of the museum’s President and senior vice president of external affairs, including endowment and stewardship reports for major donors and trustees.
